Strictly no smoking.Sorry, no pets.In the heart of the beautiful Lake District National Park this delightful 200 year old traditional stone terraced cottage of character is situated in the little hamlet of Edinboro, off the Kirkstone Road on the edge of Ambleside.The peaceful hillside setting above Stock Gyll Force faces due south and has a glorious view to Wansfell Pike and to Loughrigg.(You can hear the famous waterfall as well as the birds as you relax in the sunny private cottage garden!)An ideal base for touring, walking or climbing. You can choose to just relax in the garden, stroll down to the award winning Golden Rule - the nearest pub with real ale or wander a little further through the old town for some retail therapy, take the open top bus to other lakes or put on your walking boots and enjoy spectacular hikes which start right from the door ? no need to take the car!The small, friendly market town of Ambleside, nestled amidst the fells of Fairfield, Loughrigg and Wansfell, at the head of Lake Windermere - is only 5 minutes walk from the cottage. Cross over the tumbling river as it reaches the town from Stock Ghyll Falls and you will find the Tourist Information Centre, post office, late night Spar & Coop, butcheries, bakeries, fish n 'chip shops, pubs with live music, cafes, excellent restaurants, cinema, interesting shops, museums, banks - almost anything you could wish for.
